Stretch

Why stretch?

Rolling out of bed in the morning and feeling absolutely awful should not be the norm.

Much like flossing your teeth or going to the gym, stretching takes time, dedication, and patience. A simple, consistent stretch routine has powerful impacts that create a positive ripple effect throughout your life.

By showing up for yourself, honoring your needs, and taking care of your body, you create a relationship that only you are capable of having. The relationship between your mind, body, and soul.

Why not show your body the love it deserves?

Testimonials

Franny G.

“Hi!!!! I am Franny!! I wanted to express my sincere gratitude for the impact Sarah’s stretches have had on my fitness journey. Incorporating her stretches into my routine has brought about remarkable progress and positive changes.

Her expertise and knowledge in this field are exceptional, evident in the impressive results I have achieved. Sarah’s stretches have not only improved my weightlifting abilities but also enhanced my overall flexibility and mobility. The personalized approach she takes, tailoring each stretch to individual needs, has been invaluable in targeting muscle groups and addressing specific mobility issues.

I am incredibly grateful for her kindness, passion, and constant support. Her encouragement has motivated me to believe in myself and push past my doubts. Thank you, Sarah, for making such a remarkable difference in my life.”

“I have worked with Sarah every week for more than year and I cannot recommend her enough. She has been a game changer for my health. I started my journey not being to check my blind spot in my car or bend over to tie my shoes without pain or fear of pulling a muscle in my back. Now I can do both of those things without struggle and so much more. A lot of people think that stretching is hard and maybe not worth the time, but it truly is an investment that I believe will help me continue to stay active and mobile without pain well into the future. In addition to stretch, I also see a chiropractor regularly and Sarah’s methods help get me the most out of my chiropractic care as well. Sarah has given me so many valuable tools to maintain my mobility and keep me pain free and able to keep up with my family. She is personable and kind and such an easy person to connect with. She spends hours continuing her own education in stretch therapy and yoga so that she can bring the best techniques and practices to each session.”

“Hello my name is Kayla Bear and I’m a competitive athlete and coach at Pacifico Athletics. I’ve been working with Sarah for about a month in preparation for Bridgetown Throwdown.  Right from the start of working with Sarah I noticed some changes in my body’s ability to warm up properly, snap into positions faster and more effectively, recover the next day and most importantly injury prevention. I was lucky enough to not only have Sarah for the preparation to compete in Bridgetown but also during! She helped me by doing dynamic stretches in between events to stay loose and continue to move proficiently. One example is after event 5 my back was tight. We immediately started to tackle the issue right at the source by stretching my hamstrings, glutes, and hip flexors until I got some relief. I am extremely happy to have had Sarah at the competition and will continue to work with her to better my career progression as a CrossFit athlete.”

FAQs

What are your qualifications?

I have been practicing yoga since 2015. I completed my initial 200 hour training in Ashtanga Vinyasa, Pranayama, & Meditation in Conil de la Frontera, Spain. I am an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher, E-RYT® 200, and Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider, YACEP®, registered with the internationally recognized Yoga Alliance. I have continued education and completed an additional 55 hours of training in Ayurvedic Essentials and Restorative Yoga. I became a Stretch Therapist in early 2020. I completed the 70 hour Flexologist Training Program, an accredited certificate program recognized by the Institute for Credentialing Excellence for assisted stretching, through StretchLab and shortly after became the Lead Trainer at my location. Through 100% Chiropractic, I completed an additional Stretch Therapy certification and personally developed and led the Advanced Stretch Therapist Level 2 certification at the 2023 company wide training in Las Vegas. During my time in college I studied abroad at the University of Queensland, Australia and Solomon Islands National University for Public Health and Environmental Research. I graduated from Santa Barbara City College with three Associate degrees, and graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a Bachelor’s in Communication.

What is pnf stretching?

PNF, or proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, is a stretching technique that is designed to increase flexibility and range of motion (ROM). By contracting and relaxing your muscles against the resistance I create, you are able to comfortably progress deeper into each stretch.

How is stretch therapy different than yoga?

The biggest difference is that I will be moving your body for you! With stretch therapy you get to completely relax as we move through each group of muscles. You will be lying down for a majority of the stretches. Whereas with yoga, you are up and moving throughout the duration of the class. One-on-one stretching allows for each stretch to be specifically tailored to the individual. It provides the opportunity to check in with you throughout the duration of your session to ensure that you are experiencing each stretch to its fullest.

How frequently should I book my appointments?

I see a majority of my clients on a weekly basis. Some prefer a more proactive approach and will book multiple appointments in a week. It is important to be consistent with your stretch therapy appointments to maintain progress. I highly recommend booking at least one week in advanced. My schedule fills up quickly!

What is your cancelation policy?

I ask that you please reschedule or cancel at least one day before the beginning of your appointment, or you will be charged a cancellation fee.

Can I bring a friend with me?

I kindly ask that you do not bring any additional persons with you to your private yoga class or stretch therapy appointment.

What should I wear to my appointment?

You will remain fully clothed during your appointment, so wear something comfortable. Any attire that you would wear to the gym or a yoga class would be appropriate. Please refrain from wearing tight jeans.

Seriously though, why stretch?

Why not? Stretch therapy is overflowing with benefits! A one-on-one stretch can improve flexibility, increase range of motion, improve quality of sleep, and help regulate your sleep cycles. Stretching can relieve delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS), aid in injury prevention and recovery, improve posture, improve overall mood, and promote relaxation. You deserve to feel your absolute best. By taking care of your body now, you can continue to do the things you love well into your later years of life. Give yourself the gift of good health. 80-year-old you will thank you for it.
